Jackson State enters AFCA Top 25 at No. 23 after win over Southern

Jackson State made its first appearance in the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 this week after opening Southwestern Athletic Conference play with a 35-17 victory over Southern.

The Tigers are 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the SWAC. Jackson State entered the rankings at No. 23 after receiving votes the previous week.

Jackson State will travel to Mobile, Alabama, on Saturday for the Gulf Coast Challenge against Alabama A&M at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
