The Delta State University women’s cross-country team finished second in the team standings at the Topper Trails Classic in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, behind host Blue Mountain College in the women’s 5K.
The Lady Statesmen scored 40 points, recorded an average time of 23:17 and had a 1:03 spread among their scoring runners.

Lindsey Hogue led Delta State by placing sixth overall in 22:41.70. Caroline McAlpin was seventh in 23:08.00, followed by Mackenzie Mercer in eighth at 23:25.20 and Linnet Barrock in ninth at 23:25.90.
Kayla Lofton finished 10th in 23:45.50, while Nayeli Lopez placed 12th in 24:43.80 to complete Delta State’s scoring lineup.
Blue Mountain won the team title with 15 points and an average time of 21:32. Delta State finished ahead of Lane College and Tougaloo College.
The Lady Statesmen will travel to Memphis next Saturday for the CBU Invitational.
