Belhaven defeated Millsaps 1-0 in the Riverside Rumble at Belhaven Bowl Stadium on Tuesday. Millsaps held advantages in shots, 12-11, shots on target, 5-2, and corner kicks, 10-4, but could not equalize.
Diego Sarzalejo scored Belhaven's only goal in the 36th minute, finishing a bicycle kick from the top of the box beneath the center of the crossbar.

The goal ended Edward Steinwand's program-record shutout streak at 485 minutes and seven seconds to start the season. Steinwand had entered the match with five consecutive shutouts and stopped Belhaven's other shot on frame.
Millsaps' best and final scoring chance came with 8:16 remaining, when Ellis Dykes took a penalty kick toward the lower-right corner. The attempt was stopped.
Millsaps will begin conference play at Maryville College on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT, with live video available at FloCollege.com and live statistics at gomajors.com.
