Reeves appoints Craig Treadway to 21st Circuit Court, reopens qualifying
Gov. Tate Reeves appointed Craig Treadway of Olive Branch to the office of circuit court judge for the 21st Circuit Court District, Place 2, and issued a proclamation reopening the qualifying period for that seat, Reeves said in a Facebook post.
The qualifying period will be open for seven days and will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, Reeves said. Any person who wishes to run in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election for the position must file qualifying papers with the State Board of Election Commissioners, he said.
Reeves said Treadway brings decades of experience as an attorney and has served as a prosecutor and as a county and youth court judge. Circuit court judges generally preside over felony criminal cases, major civil disputes and family law matters, and their races often appear on statewide or local ballots.
Reeves did not provide additional details in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
