Tupelo police have charged William H. McCord, 32, with aggravated assault following an incident in September 2025.
The assault was reported September 3 at the Super 8 Motel on McCullough Boulevard. The victim told officers that McCord punched, kicked, and choked her twice, causing her to lose consciousness.
After further investigation, authorities arrested McCord on December 22. He was previously held on unrelated charges.
Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered McCord held on a $10,000 bond and issued a no-contact order with the victim. The case will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, according to police.
