Tupelo man charged with fourth DUI after traffic stop

Tupelo police arrested a man on his fourth DUI after a traffic stop on South Gloster Street on Dec. 7, authorities said.

Officers pulled over the vehicle for a traffic violation and noticed signs that the driver might be under the influence, according to a police statement. The driver was taken to the Lee County Jail on misdemeanor charges.

On Dec. 8, Charles E. Turner, 58, of Tupelo, was formally charged with his fourth count of driving under the influence after further investigation. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered Turner held without bond. The case will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, officials said.
