Tindell, Kirby discuss new Mississippi public safety headquarters

Commissioner Sean Tindell and Sen. Dean Kirby sat down on the May 6 episode of “This Week in Pearl” to discuss a new headquarters that unites all divisions of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety at a single location and the consolidation of several departments to improve teamwork across the agency.

Officials say the move is intended to strengthen communication, collaboration and overall efficiency within the department, which oversees state law enforcement services, driver licensing and other public safety functions in Mississippi.

Centralizing staff and operations can streamline decision-making and coordination among units that handle highway patrol, driver services and safety programs, experts say, and can affect how quickly agencies respond to incidents and manage statewide initiatives.

The episode is available on YouTube and is part of an ongoing series covering local and state government developments in Pearl, Mississippi. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
