Sheriff’s Office Seeks Help Identifying Vehicle in E-Bike Theft

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle involved in the theft of a child’s electric bike.

On Monday, January 5, 2026, around 2 p.m., a white male driving an older model white Chevrolet Silverado pickup took a blue Lectric XP4 e-bike from a residence on Houston Acres near Florence, authorities said.

Investigators believe the bike may have been mistaken for trash and salvaged. The sheriff’s office released photos of the vehicle, which has a black toolbox, a black rim on the back passenger side, and a sticker that reads “In God We Trust” on the rear window.

The bike was a Christmas gift for a child, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 601-825-1480.
