Authorities said in a Facebook post late Tuesday that 19-year-old Cortavion Dewayne Hobbs remains wanted and is believed to be armed and dangerous following an officer-involved shooting in Mount Olive, Mississippi.
The shooting occurred June 8, 2026, at approximately 3:38 p.m. in Mount Olive in Covington County, law enforcement said. Zykerian Quentavius Magee has been cleared as a subject involved at this time, the post said.
Hobbs is described as a Black male, 19 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a camouflage hoodie and is believed to have brown eyes and black hair, authorities said. The post said he could be in the area of the 200 block of South Bluff Street in Mount Olive.
The Facebook post included a photograph of Hobbs and urged anyone with information to call 911 or the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation at 855-642-5378. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is the state agency that often assists with major criminal inquiries.
