UMMC names John E. Hall Research Building at retirement

The University of Mississippi Medical Center honored Dr. John E. Hall with a retirement celebration and the naming of the John E. Hall Research Building after more than five decades of service, mentorship and research, the medical center said in a Facebook post.

Family members, colleagues and former students attended the celebration and shared stories about Hall, whom UMMC described as a scientist, teacher and leader who helped shape countless careers and advanced medical science around the world.

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is the state’s academic medical center and is known for training health professionals and conducting clinical and laboratory research. Naming a research building for a retiring faculty member recognizes a lengthy career and signals the institution’s ongoing commitment to research and education.
