Game Day: No. 12 Lady Bulldogs to Host No. 13 Lady Wildcats

The 12th ranked Lady Bulldogs return home to host the 13th ranked Lady Wildcats today at noon. Mississippi State (6-1, 1-0) is coming off a road win at the University of Georgia to start the season 1-0 in the SEC. The win also handed Georgia their first loss of the year. Kentucky (8-1, 1-0) has been hot so far this season and is coming off an upset win over the 10th ranked Arkansas Razorbacks.

The series between the Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Wildcats has turned into a good rivalry of late. Regardless of rankings or records, there have been many hard-fought games and upsets between the teams the last several years. The two teams met twice last year and split the games one each.

Humphrey Coliseum has become one of the toughest places to play in the nation for opposing teams. The arena is normally packed with thousands of fans cheering on their team, creating a great home-court advantage. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, there will be limited seating at the venue due to covid-19 protocols and they might not have the same environment that they have grown accustomed to. Regardless of the attendance and crowd noise today, I’m sure the Lady Bulldogs are glad to be back home and ready for the task.
