Game Day Hoops: MSU at Home vs Kentucky

Mississippi State (6-3,1-0) will host their first home SEC game of the season as the Kentucky Wildcats (1-6, 0-0) come to Humphrey Coliseum for an evening of basketball. The Bulldogs are coming of a dominating win at Georgia earlier this week and are now on a three game winning streak. The Wildcats on the other hand, have been struggling of late, losing their last six contests.

While the record isn’t up to Kentucky standards, the Wildcats have played a very difficult schedule and still have more talent than most teams. Ben Howland knows his Bulldogs have a difficult task at hand…

“They will be very ready to play tomorrow, and we understand that. They’re very talented and very well-coached. We’re going to have to play our very best to have success against Kentucky, and we understand that. I think everybody in our conference does as well.”

Tonight’s game will be the first conference game of the season for Kentucky as their scheduled opener against South Carolina was postponed. You can watch tonight’s game between the Bulldogs and the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on the SEC Network.
