Three commended for response to barricaded suspect in Clarksdale
Jovas Haynes, Terrance Webb and Samuel Marshall were commended for their response while assisting the Clarksdale Police Department with a barricaded aggravated domestic violence suspect on Aug. 16, 2026.
According to the Coahoma County Sheriff's Office, Haynes led coordination of the response and ensured the necessary personnel and equipment were on scene. When conditions inside the apartment changed, the team developed an alternative plan intended to avoid a direct entry and reduce risk to the woman inside.
The plan was carried out successfully, and the suspect complied with commands and surrendered without further incident. The Sheriff's Office said the team's coordinated response, judgment and focus on protecting those involved helped bring the situation to a safe resolution.
