Mississippi auditor’s office says it recouped more than $1.1 million in FY 2026

The Mississippi Office of the State Auditor said it recouped more than $1.1 million in misspent funds for Mississippi taxpayers during fiscal year 2026 while State Auditor Shad White was deployed to the Middle East.

The office said it concluded FY 2026 during White’s deployment. The statement also described service to the country and service to the state as important.
