MDOT sets Mississippi Gulf Coast drawbridge restrictions as Isaias nears

The Mississippi Department of Transportation is advising boaters on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to move inland through a drawbridge or shelter in the back bay by 10 a.m. Friday as Hurricane Isaias nears the Gulf Coast.

Tropical storm-force winds are expected to affect the area starting tomorrow. In response, MDOT will remove the gate arms from drawbridges on I-110, State Route 605 and State Route 609 beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.

After the gate arms are removed, the bridges will be locked down and closed to marine traffic. They will not be raised again until the storm passes.
