Three Mississippi lawmakers receive MDOT Friends of Transportation Awards

Three Mississippi lawmakers received Friends of Transportation Awards at a Commission meeting, with the awards presented by the Mississippi Department of Transportation, or MDOT.

The recipients were State Rep. Steve Massengill, House Transportation chairman; state Sen. Chuck Younger, Senate Transportation chairman; and State Rep. Karl Oliver, chairman of the Appropriations E Subcommittee.

MDOT said the three leaders had been instrumental in bringing the state’s infrastructure challenges into legislative discussions. The agency also credited their advocacy as contributing to infrastructure accomplishments by MDOT and the state in recent years.
