Vicksburg Police swear in four new officers

The Vicksburg Police Department said on its Facebook page that it swore in four new officers, welcoming them to the department and to careers in law enforcement.

The officers named in the post are Jimika Dixon, Ashley Barnes, Jyla Williams and Andreya McGee.

The Vicksburg Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency serving Vicksburg, Mississippi, a city on the Mississippi River and the seat of Warren County. Municipal departments like Vicksburg’s handle patrol duties, investigations and community policing to maintain public safety.

The department’s post congratulated the new officers and thanked them for choosing to serve. Swearing-in ceremonies mark the formal start of an officer’s service and the taking of an oath to uphold the law and protect citizens. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
