VICKSBURG, Mississippi — Around 9 a.m. Monday, July 27, Vicksburg police arrested 33-year-old John Taylor on Cain Ridge Road after a foot pursuit that began when officers encountered him near ERDC on Halls Ferry Road, the Vicksburg Police Department said in a social media post.
Officers said Taylor fled on foot when they approached, and the pursuit ended on Cain Ridge Road where they took him into custody. Officers deployed a Taser during the apprehension, and Taylor was secured, the department said.
The department said Taylor was wanted on several outstanding warrants, including felony warrants, and was also wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
The Vicksburg Police Department thanked the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and its deputies for their assistance in the apprehension, according to the post.
