Traffic officer directs scene after two-vehicle crash

The traffic division posted on Facebook that Traffic Division Officer Michael Battle worked the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and North Frontage Road, resulting in minor injuries. Officer Battle assisted with traffic control while first responders worked to safely manage the scene and clear the roadway, the post said.

Traffic divisions within police departments typically investigate collisions, coordinate with emergency medical personnel and fire crews, and manage traffic flow to reduce the risk of additional collisions. Their work can be critical even when injuries are reported as minor because vehicle incidents often block lanes and create hazards for other motorists.

The social media post thanked responding agencies for their professionalism and motorists for their patience and cooperation during the incident. Quick, coordinated responses help restore normal traffic patterns and allow emergency personnel to attend to injured people and secure the scene.

Details about the cause of the crash, the identities of those involved and the condition of the injured parties were not released. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
