Summit Food Service staff earn A on state health inspection

A Facebook post congratulated Ms. Yashicka Hinton and Ms. Jennifer Harris of Summit Food Service for earning an “A” rating on a food establishment inspection conducted by the Mississippi State Department of Health at the Coahoma County Detention Center.

The Mississippi State Department of Health conducts inspections of food service operations to evaluate sanitation, food handling and safety practices intended to protect public health. An “A” rating generally indicates compliance with state standards for cleanliness and food safety.

Summit Food Service is the contracted provider of meals for the Coahoma County Detention Center. Safe, sanitary food preparation is important in detention settings to prevent illness among residents and staff and to maintain facility operations.

The Facebook post said the rating reflects the staff members’ commitment to cleanliness, safety and professionalism and thanked them for representing Summit Food Service and the detention facility. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
