Power outage closes Jackson Driver Service Bureau; Columbia reopens
The Driver Service Bureau said on Facebook that its Columbia office has reopened but the Jackson location remains closed after a loss of power.
As of 8:50 a.m., the bureau said the Columbia office at 153 Partnership Way in Columbia, Mississippi, was back open. The Jackson office at 430 State Street in Jackson remained closed this morning while staff work to resolve the outage, the post said.
The bureau said both locations were temporarily closed earlier today because of the power loss and apologized for the inconvenience. It said staff are working to restore services and will continue to provide updates on Facebook.
Driver service bureaus typically handle services such as issuing driver’s licenses, identification cards and related vehicle transactions, and closures can delay appointments and in-person transactions for residents. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
