Police charge 19-year-old in Homicide No. 38
Police charged 19-year-old Jadon Sanders with murder Thursday in connection with the killing of a man found June 25 in an abandoned house on the 900 block of Woody Drive, the JPD Robbery/Homicide Unit said.
Officers responded to the property on June 25 and located a Black male who was later identified as Javion Clinton and pronounced dead from gunshot wounds, the department said. The case was designated Homicide No. 38 by the department.
On July 8, following a thorough investigation by lead detectives with the JPD Robbery/Homicide Unit, Sanders was interviewed and charged with murder for his alleged role in the killing, the department said. He appeared before a municipal court judge on July 9 and was denied bond.
The JPD Robbery/Homicide Unit handles investigations of serious violent crimes and works with prosecutors as cases move through the court system. The department’s numbering of the case provides a way to track homicides in the jurisdiction during the calendar year and is routinely used in public updates.
