Pike County sheriff leads litter cleanup on I-55
Pike County Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones continued his office’s 2026 Litter Campaign with a cleanup along Interstate 55 North at the Lake Dixie Springs exit, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department said.
The department said the effort reflects the sheriff’s commitment to keeping Pike County “clean, safe and beautiful” and extends thanks to the Mississippi Department of Transportation and Commissioner Charles Busby for donating the cleanup truck.
The office credited Lamar Coulter and county inmates with leading the cleanup work and thanked local donors including the McComb Rotary Club and Victor’s Tint & Graphics for providing decals, the department said.
Sheriffs are the county’s chief law enforcement officers and often coordinate public-safety and community projects such as roadside cleanups, which officials say can improve safety and local appearance. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
