Oxford police honor officer at monthly appreciation lunch
Oxford Police Department said on its Facebook page that it held its monthly officer appreciation lunch at Back 9 Oxford and thanked Back 9, McKenzie Collier PLLC and CASA of North Mississippi for feeding staff.
The department credited Andie Sanford of Strive 4 Marketing with organizing the monthly event and congratulated Officer Greer Nabors for being named the Strive Award Officer of the Month for June.
Oxford Police said Nabors received the recognition for quick thinking and immediate action at the end of his shift on June 21, which the department said led directly to an arrest in a recent felony shoplifting incident. The post said his initiative made a real difference in the case and reflects the dedication the department wants to see on shifts.
CASA of North Mississippi is part of a national network of court-appointed special advocates that works on behalf of abused and neglected children, and McKenzie Collier PLLC is a local law firm, the department noted. The department said community partners and recognition programs help support officer morale and community relations. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
