Mississippi DOT posts photos on Facebook

The Mississippi Department of Transportation posted photos on its Facebook page, sharing images directly with the public.

MDOT is the state agency responsible for maintaining and improving Mississippi’s highways, bridges and related infrastructure. The department routinely uses social media to inform motorists about road work, traffic incidents and progress on construction projects.

Photos posted by transportation agencies can serve several functions: they document project progress, provide visual information about road and bridge conditions, and give motorists and local officials timely context for travel planning. Visual updates can also help the public hold agencies accountable for timelines and safety measures.

Details beyond the posted images were limited in the Facebook entry. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
