MDWFP hosts free youth Fish Camp in June

ENID — The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks will host a free Fish Camp for youth ages 10 to 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 10 at the Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery Visitor Education Center in Enid.

The full-day camp will include fish identification, water safety tips, a tour of the hatchery and catfish fishing in the Visitor Education Center pond. Participants will also meet a National Park Service ranger and learn more about the Jr. Angler Badge.

The program is free, but space is limited and preregistration is required. To preregister, call the Visitor Education Center at 662-563-8068 or email [email protected] to receive a registration form.

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks manages the state’s wildlife, fisheries and parks and offers outreach and education programs aimed at engaging young people in outdoor recreation and conservation. The Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery Visitor Education Center hosts tours and hands-on learning opportunities for visitors. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
