Lowndes County posts weekly wanted bulletin

A Facebook post titled “Wanted Wednesday Weekly Wanted Persons Bulletin” alerted residents Wednesday that several people were being sought on active warrants, but warned that warrant status may change after the post, according to the message.

The post said all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and asked anyone with information about the whereabouts of the individuals featured to contact the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.

The bulletin directs tipsters to Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers for anonymous reporting at 1-800-530-7151 or to submit a tip using the P3Tips App. Crime Stoppers programs commonly allow community members to provide information without revealing their identities, which officials say can help law enforcement locate suspects and close cases more quickly.

Weekly wanted bulletins are a routine tool used by sheriffs’ offices to inform the public and solicit assistance in locating people with outstanding warrants. The post noted warrant status can change and urged caution in drawing conclusions from the bulletin. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
