Lieutenant updates drivers on I-55 road conditions in Tate County

A Mississippi Highway Patrol lieutenant posted a social media update near mile marker 260 on Interstate 55 in Tate County, urging motorists to drive safely, the agency said.

The post, captioned “Celebrity sighting on I-55,” showed Lt. Stewart giving an on-scene update on road conditions and reminding drivers to exercise caution, the patrol said in a Facebook reel.

Interstate 55 is a major north-south highway that runs from Louisiana through Mississippi to Illinois and carries significant commercial and commuter traffic. Timely updates from law enforcement can help motorists make safer travel decisions and reduce the risk of crashes or delays.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is responsible for traffic enforcement and highway safety across the state and often uses social media to share road-condition information and safety reminders. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
