Jackson police seek runaway 17-year-old Joseph Richmond III

The Jackson Police Department in Jackson, Mississippi, is asking the public to help locate 17-year-old Joseph Richmond III, who has been reported as a runaway, the department said.

Joseph Richmond III was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black shoes, and carrying a black and blue backpack, according to the department. Officials did not provide additional details about when or where he was last seen.

Police said anyone with information about Richmond’s whereabouts should contact the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1800 or 769-209-7439. The department posted the alert to social media to broaden the search and encourage tips from the community.

Runaway and missing juvenile cases often rely on rapid public assistance, and law enforcement agencies typically urge anyone who sees a reported person not to approach but to call police. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
