Jackson police seek public help in I-55 crash

The Jackson Police Department said it is asking the public for help in a crash that occurred Friday, July 29, 2022, on the I-55 North Frontage Road involving 32-year-old Kion Hughes.

Authorities asked anyone with information about the incident to call the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1604 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS. The department posted the request on its social media account seeking tips from witnesses or anyone with relevant details.

The Jackson Police Department patrols the capital city of Jackson, Mississippi, and investigates traffic crashes and incidents that affect public safety. Public tips often help investigators establish timelines, identify additional witnesses and piece together events leading up to collisions.

Crime Stoppers programs typically allow members of the public to provide information anonymously and can offer rewards in qualifying cases, officials say. Officials did not provide additional details about injuries or charges in the initial notice.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
