Jackson police seek help after rash of burglaries
Jackson Police Department Property Crime Unit detectives are asking the public for help investigating a rash of burglaries in the city, the department said in a Facebook post.
A vehicle shown in photos attached to the post has been used by the suspect or suspects in the burglaries, police said. Anyone who has encountered the vehicle or who has information about its owner or occupants is asked to contact JPD at 601-960-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest and accepts anonymous tips, the department said. The message stressed that Crime Stoppers does not need a caller’s name, only information that could assist the investigation.
The Jackson Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for Mississippi’s capital and operates specialized units, including a Property Crime Unit that investigates burglaries, thefts and related offenses. Public tips and photographs often help investigators identify suspects, recover stolen property and prevent further incidents.
Officials did not provide additional details about the number of burglaries or the timing of the incidents. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
