Hattiesburg police seek person of interest in commercial burglaries

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi — The Hattiesburg Police Department is asking the public for help locating a person of interest in connection with multiple commercial burglaries, the department said Thursday.

Police said the incidents occurred in the 100 block of Industrial Drive on Dec. 14, 2025; Jan. 18, 2026; and Feb. 15, 2026. Detectives are seeking to speak with Eddie McCormick, 27, of Laurel, regarding the incidents, police said.

Authorities asked anyone with information about McCormick’s whereabouts or details related to the burglaries to contact the Hattiesburg Police Department. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers or online at www.P3Tips.com, officials said.

Hattiesburg is a city in southern Mississippi and the seat of Forrest County. Commercial burglaries can have significant impacts on small businesses and local employment, and police said the investigation remains active. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
