Chief RaShall Brackney of the Jackson Police Department served as a panelist at the Hinds County Youth Court’s second annual Youth Justice Summit on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Jackson Medical Mall, the department said on Facebook.
The department posted photos from the event and described it as “a stellar event!” in its social media post, highlighting Brackney’s participation alongside other community stakeholders.
Hinds County Youth Court is a local juvenile justice program that seeks alternatives to formal prosecution for young people and aims to connect youth with services and supportive interventions. Events such as the Youth Justice Summit bring attention to efforts to address juvenile involvement with the justice system and to identify community-based responses.
