Jackson police chief honors mothers on Mother’s Day

Chief RaShall Brackney, Ph.D., and the Jackson Police Department wished mothers in Jackson a happy Mother’s Day in a message posted to the department’s Facebook page, thanking them for the love, strength and sacrifice they give to their families and the community.

The post singled out officers who are mothers, offering “a special salute” to JPD moms who wear the badge, serve the city and still “come home to be supermom,” and added that they are seen, honored and deeply appreciated.

The Jackson Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency responsible for public safety and community policing in the city. Messages from police leaders on holidays often aim to recognize the contributions of residents and build ties between departments and the communities they serve.

Observances such as Mother’s Day highlight caregiving roles across the workforce, including in law enforcement, and can affect morale and community relations. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
