Hinds County seeks help in cold-case death of 18-year-old

The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in a cold-case investigation into the death of 18-year-old Isaiah Evans, whose body was discovered May 5, 2022, on Jackson Raymond Road in Hinds County, the office said in a Facebook post.

The post said Evans was wearing a gray bubble jacket and black pants and was not wearing shoes when his body was found. Inside his jacket were a black pair of Alexander McQueen shoe inserts, the post said. Evans’ family still seeks answers and a resolution in his death, the post added.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Central MS Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477). The post said tips that lead to an arrest could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500. Tips also may be submitted online at https://www.p3tips.com/tipform.aspx?ID=116#.

Cold-case investigations seek to reexamine unsolved crimes and often depend on new tips or forensic advances. The Sheriff’s Office did not provide further details in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
