Desoto County DA brings Chick-fil-A to thank officers
Desoto County District Attorney Matthew Barton stopped by local law enforcement offices this morning with Chick-fil-A to extend appreciation to officers, a Facebook post said.
The post thanked Barton for his visit and for the gesture of support. It did not provide additional details about the location, number of officers present or the items delivered.
District attorneys serve as a county’s chief prosecutors and frequently work closely with police and sheriff’s offices in criminal investigations and prosecutions. Community gestures such as bringing meals or offering public thanks are common ways elected officials and community partners acknowledge the work and often stressful duties of first responders.
Leaders and residents say public shows of appreciation can help boost morale among officers and reinforce partnerships between prosecutors and law enforcement. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
