Deputy Jesse Nance graduates second in MLEOTA class, leads in PT
Deputy Jesse Nance graduated second in Basic Class No. 280 at the Minnesota Law Enforcement Officer Training Academy and recorded the highest score in physical training, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
The sheriff’s office said the last three deputies from Scott County to complete the academy have finished either first or second in their classes, a streak the agency said citizens should be proud of.
The Minnesota Law Enforcement Officer Training Academy, commonly known as MLEOTA, provides standardized basic training for law enforcement officers in the state, covering topics such as patrol procedures, legal instruction and physical conditioning. High class rankings and top physical fitness scores typically reflect strong academic and physical performance during the academy program.
Graduation from a state law enforcement academy is a key step toward certification and active duty for many deputies. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
