City begins towing vehicles from City Hall and East Jackson lots

A Facebook post warns that vehicles parked in spaces in front of City Hall and in the Something Southern parking lot off East Jackson will be towed beginning tomorrow morning at approximately 5 a.m.

The post said the towing will apply to the specific spaces shown on an attached map and urged drivers not to leave cars overnight to avoid being towed.

The notice did not specify a reason for the towing or identify which agency will conduct the removals. Towing notices of this kind are commonly issued ahead of street repairs, special events, security measures or building access needs; drivers in affected areas can face inconvenience, fines and the cost of vehicle recovery when vehicles are removed.

Motorists who frequently park near City Hall or on East Jackson should check for additional notices and move vehicles before the stated time. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
