Bags & Badges tournament seeks teams for Aug. 15 fundraiser

Organizers say there is still room for teams in the 2nd Annual Bags & Badges Cornhole Tournament set for Saturday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. at The Ruins, 207 Mobile Street in Hattiesburg.

The tournament is limited to 30 teams and will follow a double-elimination format, organizers said in a Facebook post. Entry is $100 per team. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams: $200 for first place, $150 for second and $100 for third.

Proceeds will support the Hattiesburg Police Department Benefit Fund, which organizers say provides assistance to police officers during times of need. Cornhole, a popular backyard and community-game staple, is often used for local fundraisers. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
