UMMC said in a Facebook post that it has earned the American College of Cardiology’s Platinum Performance Achievement Award for heart attack care.
UMMC is one of 350 hospitals nationwide recognized this year for consistently providing high-quality, guideline-based care to patients who suffer heart attacks, the post said. The award comes from the American College of Cardiology, a national professional medical organization that sets standards and guidelines for cardiovascular care.
The recognition highlights the importance of rapid, coordinated treatment to restore blood flow and limit heart muscle damage, and it underscores the role of teamwork across emergency, cardiology and procedural teams. UMMC said the honor reflects the teamwork and dedication behind every patient’s care.
