The annual Run the Rainbow event returns March 21, offering races for all skill levels to benefit Children’s of Mississippi, the state’s only children’s hospital.
The event features a family-friendly 5K and longer races, bringing the community together to support kids and families in need.

Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
