McRae Foundation gives major gift to UMMC cancer center campaign
The Selby and Richard McRae Foundation has made a major investment in the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s campaign to build a cancer center, UMMC said. The gift, announced by the medical center on its website and social media, is described as continuing the foundation’s long history of strengthening health care across the state.
UMMC said the investment will help move Mississippi closer to providing world-class cancer care close to home. The campaign aims to expand access to comprehensive cancer treatment, clinical trials and specialized services for patients who now often travel long distances for care.
The Selby and Richard McRae Foundation is a philanthropic organization known for supporting health and community projects in Mississippi, UMMC said. The university medical center is the state’s only academic medical center and plays a central role in training physicians, conducting research and delivering advanced care.
UMMC linked to a news article with additional information about the gift. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
