Ashley Castle receives liver transplant at UMMC, marks Mississippi milestone
Ashley Castle received a successful liver transplant at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, a procedure that gave her a second chance and what UMMC said is believed to be a first for Mississippi.
UMMC said Castle’s journey included years of treatment, prolonged uncertainty and several transplant opportunities that ultimately were not the right match before the successful operation. The center attributed the outcome to coordinated care by its transplant team.
