Mississippi Governor’s School is accepting applications from students in 10th and 11th grade for an opportunity to earn college credit, connect with students from across Mississippi and have fun while participating. The program is free.
Students are encouraged to apply now to be considered in the first round of selections. Applications are available through the Mississippi Governor’s School website.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
