MDCC student gains chemistry research experience at University of Mississippi
Dalton Devall, a Mississippi Delta Community College student, spent part of his summer conducting chemistry research at the University of Mississippi through a partnership between the MDCC Honors College and the Ole Miss Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
The five-week program gave Devall the opportunity to work alongside university faculty and graduate students, use advanced laboratory equipment and conduct research on spiro-nanographenes.
The experience strengthened Devall’s skills and helped shape his plans after MDCC. He plans to pursue biological sciences with a concentration in neurology and hopes to conduct research that helps people living with neurological disorders.
