HCSO recruiter visits Gary Road Elementary for college, career program

HCSO recruiter Deputy Bernard Moore participated in Gary Road Elementary School’s college and career program, according to a Facebook post by the school.

College and career programs in elementary schools introduce young students to a range of jobs and educational paths, helping them begin to think about future goals and the steps needed to reach them. Schools and districts often invite community members and professionals to speak so students can see real-world examples of different careers.

Law enforcement recruiters who join such events typically explain the variety of roles within public safety, discuss the education and training required, and offer a chance for children to ask questions. Participation by deputies and other public servants also aims to build familiarity and trust between students and community institutions.

Gary Road Elementary posted photos of the visit on its Facebook page. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
