Crime Scene Unit gives students hands-on look at forensic careers

The Crime Scene Unit said in a social media post that it attended the TREK Job Extravaganza last week, giving students a hands-on look into careers in forensic investigation.

Crime scene units are typically responsible for documenting and collecting physical evidence at investigations and working with forensic laboratories to analyze that evidence. Exposure to the tools and methods used by investigators can help students understand the variety of roles available in forensic science, from evidence collection to laboratory analysis.

Officials and educators say hands-on demonstrations at job fairs and school events can play an important role in career exploration, encouraging students to consider science, technology, engineering and math pathways that lead to public safety and forensic professions.

TREK Job Extravaganza is described as a student-focused event intended to connect learners with career opportunities. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
