Northeast Mississippi Community College inducted 177 students into its Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society chapter last night, according to the college.
The college said membership reflects the students’ hard work, dedication and academic excellence. It also said the chapter continues to receive national recognition and provides opportunities for leadership development, meaningful connections and scholarships.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
