Tupelo man charged with shooting into vehicle and home, possession of firearm by felon

Tupelo police arrested Jermaine Edmond Jr., 32, on Jan. 6 after he allegedly fired into a motor vehicle and a nearby home, according to a news release.

On Jan. 4, officers responded to Hill-N-Dale Drive following reports of gunfire. They found a victim who said Edmond discharged a firearm into his vehicle after a confrontation. Police also discovered the nearby home had been struck by gunfire.

Officers identified Edmond as a suspect and located him nearby. He was arrested on misdemeanor charges. After further investigation, authorities charged Edmond with shooting into a motor vehicle, shooting into a dwelling, and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

On Jan. 6, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered Edmond held without bond. The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury, according to police.
