Panola County man charged with grand larceny in Lafayette County

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said Christopher Darby, 18, of Panola County was charged with one count of grand larceny after a report of money stolen from a motor vehicle.

The sheriff’s office said it received the theft report Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026. Darby was arrested that day and booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center, according to the office.

Darby appeared Wednesday before Lafayette County Justice Court for an initial appearance. A justice court judge set his bond at $5,000.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
